Shihan Donald Schenck

Shihan began his journey in karate in 1973 under the direction of Sensei Martin Radecki @ Krannert Community Center
In the late 1980's trained with the World Oyama Organization under Shihan Miyuki Miura in Chicago
In the late 1990's trained privately for several years with Kancho James C. Gillis
In 2006 received his 5th Degree Blackbelt and title of Shihan from Kancho James C. Gillis
In 2002 opened the first Kandan Karate non-profit dojo and received the title Branch Chief
In 2008 Shihan-Sho Gillis moved the Gillis' Kandan Karate School to Indianapolis under Shihan Don
October 2012 brought the official opening of the Gillis' Kandan Karate School @ Garfield Park/Burrello Family Center.
